The class teacher for Purple is Robyn.
Numeracy and Problem Solving
We are learning to add and subtract single and double-digit numbers, explore measurement and time, and develop our understanding of 2D and 3D shapes.
Literacy and Communication
Purple Class are following the Little Wandle phonics programme and will continue to progress through the phases at a pace suited to each child’s level.
The pupils read daily and use their phonics sounds to learn new words and vocabulary. They are also developing their handwriting by practising letter formation and writing short sentences and phrases. As we explore new aspects of our topic, we will incorporate these into our literacy activities, including opportunities for role play.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
(Science, Geography, History, RE, ICT)
Science
We will be exploring the conditions needed for life to develop and change.
Geography
We are learning about different types of transport within our local environment.
RE
We are exploring prayer and discovering how different religions and traditions worship.
Physical and Social Development
(PE and PSHE)
PSHE
Pupils will be encouraged to extend their awareness of themselves as individuals, develop a greater understanding of what goes onto and into their bodies, learn about the sources of these, and reflect on their own role and choices.
PE
Pupils will explore, improvise, and combine movement ideas using different visual and/or audio images as a starting point.
Creative Development
(Art, Music, DT)
Art
We are learning about digital animation, creating sequences of images that change over time to give the sense of movement.
